Guadalupe Pineda in Paris
Guadalupe Pineda will proudly represent Mexico at the Cathedral of Notre Dame in Paris, where on December 12 she will sing Las Mañanitas to the Virgin of Guadalupe. On the same day, she will also perform at the Oratory of the Louvre Museum.
Pineda expressed her pride in receiving these invitations, as they allow her to “strengthen cultural ties between Mexico and France.” She added that returning to Paris to sing to the Virgin is a tribute to the celebration of La Guadalupana.
She emphasized the significance of performing in France, especially at the High Altar of Notre Dame Cathedral, where she will sing La Guadalupana, a traditional festive song, as well as Ave María a cappella. She noted that bringing the Virgin of Guadalupe’s celebration to France is a gesture of solidarity.
For years, Pineda has sung in honor of the Virgin of Guadalupe every December 12 at the Basilica in Mexico. This year, she will leave behind a recorded video to be played during the festivities, which draw thousands of pilgrims.
She also shared that on December 12, she will give a concert at the Oratory of the Louvre Museum—“a place where the kings of France once prayed.” The invitation came from a cultural organization aiming to strengthen ties between France and Mexico.
“The performance is entirely cultural, and it’s an honor to represent Mexican culture,” she said. “I’ll be performing Mexican and Latin American songs, accompanied by musicians and mariachi.” She added that cultural figures and officials from the French mayor’s office will be in attendance.
